4 religions in 4 blocks: Singapore’s Little India

Staying in Singapore’s Little India brought soul and spirit to what otherwise would have been a ultra-consumer and commercialized urban experience. The smells, the colors, the sounds of bells and prayers, the many shades of people practicing and worshipping in many more languages and Asian/colonial-English accents. In a 4 block radius I visited the practice centers for 4 major religions. From top left of the photos and going clockwise: the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, the Abdul Gafoor Mosque, detail from a window of the Church of the True Light Anglican Church community center, and the statue in the Sakyamuni Buddha Gaya Temple.
